Im doing yet another inground pool this week, and was getting curious if a product exists for mounting boxes to (ex. Receptacle in landscaping around pool)
I always use the good old pressure treated 4x4 in concrete but was just wondering if a more specific product was available.

You could use a hollow 4x4 aluminum post, and cut in a box. That way, your receptacle could be flush mounted, with a much better appearance than a PT lumber post.

I've used products similar to the one Bob K. posted a link to, but they were from RAB, and for the installation of flood lights, mostly. We nippled in bell boxes to those, and it worked pretty good. They are rugged enough, if kept out of the way of people's feet and lawnmowers.

I'd say that I'd use them, but I imagine the old PT 4x4 with a bell box is probably more durable, IMO.

A couple of years ago, my brother and his wife asked about a light near the end of the driveway, where they use their propane grill. The grill has a rotisserie motor, too, so we designed a functional design for them.

I found a white plastic 4x4 sleeve at the orange store, and cut two rectangular holes in one side, one near the top and one near the middle. I installed an old-work box in each hole, and put about 2 feet into concrete.

The upper box received a rectangular 50-watt halogen flood fixture on a gasketed single-gang plate with a 1/2" threaded hole, and the lower box got a combo switch-receptacle under a weather-proof-in-use cover.

We ran THWN in a 1/2" PVC directly from a 15a GFCI breaker in the panel, which is next to the side door. If they forget to turn off the light, they flip the breaker. A matching square post-top cap completed the assembly.
