Outdoor Roof Soffit Recessed Lighiting

I recently got called to do some outdoor light for a customer. He is redoing his roof and siding he wants to add recessed lighting on roofs over hang, for down lighting. Just wondering if anyone on here has done any and what lights did you use or would recommend?

In the distant past we used recessed cans and trim. The LEDs they have now make those obsolete. Walk into about any large DIY store and they will have a wide selection.

Your wholesalers should have a some to choose from.

No special cans just usually the trims. But with new LED trims there are a ton of choices.
If the soffit has ridges, try to get the siding guys to put the flat spot where the cans are so the trims fit flush with no gaps.
