Please see the picture. This is a UF cable run from a fuse box to a light fixture. This is installed on a wood utility pole approximately 20' above grade. The wire is a UF cable run from the fuse box to the light fixture. My question is the splice, is it legal to have a splice outdoor? The wires are connected by a wire nut, rubber taped and then wrapped in electrical tape. I could not find an exception on the code allowing this to be outside a junction box.
