So I have to run a 220v 20a HR for a submersible pump for a well located outdoors and the Well guy says "Leave us a 5' whip", now regardless... I am gonna stop by the day they are finished but was wondering what you guys usually do as far as disconnect means for these?

20A 2 Pole Switch in WP box?

60A Disco?

Taped wire nuts?

if your talking about the actual well and not the tank with a pressure switch inside then all we do is bring a uf cable or 3/4 pvc and they splice right under the blue cap. the well pump conductors are tie wrapped or electrical taped to the black water pipe that goes down to the motor itself. have a good time when you have to replace one of those. you end up pulling a ton of pipe.

We bring the circuit(240 volt-20 amps) to a w/p disconnect switch and a sealtite tail long enough to reach the pressure switch. They pick it up and set the pressure switch. We usually figure in a 240 surge protector for the pump circuit.

Sorry missed my chance to edit....

The goal is to install the SPD as close to the motor as possible to prevent current from coming into the dwelling correct? If that is the case would I go L-L-G with the SPD in the link? Any product recommendations?
