I will be installing a new switchgear outdoors for the quick connection of a temp. generator. The existing indoor MDP takes up the entire wall except for ten inches of wall and twenty-four inches for the door that swings to the outside. I am limited to installing the new conduit straight into the back of the existing indoor gear. Would it be a violation if the the outdoor gear was ten inches to the left of the electrical room door when swung open. The door only opens to 90 degrees.

Off hand I can't think of any NEC problem.
Our local utility company is the only one I know of that doesn't allow it,s meter equipment in a door swing area.

The only thing that I have found is 110.26 outdoor installations cannot have any appurtenances within its working space. Even though the door will be temperarily swung open, would it be considered an appurtenance?
