I'm trying to define the containment requirements for an oil filled transformer what exaclty is the code requirements for containment for an oil filled transformer. i've read 450.23 and it refers to fm global ,and there the confusion starts. any help appreaciate, please refernce code for understanding requirements. cheers.

This is not an NEC issue. You will need to go to other standards, primarily those associated with fire prevention, such as the old Factory Mutual, now FM Global.

The last time I was involved with containment, we needed to check with the Dept of Natural Resources as we had a waterway near by.
