I'm having a problem with a GFCI tripping. Its controlling an outdoor Whirlpool ckt and when it rains it trips and won't reset for several day's. I'm sure that there is a thread regarding such. Will someone please direct me to such a thread. The breaker is in a rainproof enclosure...there is not a rubber seal around the enclosure so moisture is present.

How is it wired?
I had one that was doing the same thing and I found that the installer had connected the grounding conductor to the neutral connection on the GFCI breaker. This allowed full current between the grounding on the hot tub and ether hot but also when the ground would get wet enough it would trip because of the frame being connected to the neutral insteed of the grounding bar.
It was a 4-wire hot tub and this was the only way I guess he could make it work with 3 wires. I had to run a new 4-wire feeder to it to fix it.
Another thing that it could be if it is wired right is if there is a skind wire in the conduit. as even PVC will get water in it. You might be able to see it on a OHM meter on a high scale. after disconecting the feeders from the hot tub and the GFCI.

Thanks Hurk...it was wired by the "heating/cooling guy" whom also upgraded the service while he was there ;)
