When installing a wireless network transceiver (think wireless router with antenna) on a rooftop of a commercial building, the radio transceiver is connected to a small power supply unit that provides 48 vdc over the CAT5 Ethernet cable (PoE). The power supply is housed in a 3R NEMA enclosure out on the roof. The questions are?.
1. Does the CAT5 cabling need to be in conduit when placed along the parapet wall?
2. Is the rule (New York City) any different for school or hospital structures.
Again?.This is all outdoor CAT5 cabling running wireless communications equipment.
Thanks!
