outlet above suspended ceiling

i am currently working on a dentist office. is it a nec violation to have a outlet above ceiling for a monitor to plug into if so could you help with a code ref

You can have a receptacle installed above the ceiling you just can't install flexible cord above the ceiling so if the monitors have a flexible cord and plug then you can't have the cord above the ceiling.

Take a look at 400.8(2) & (5)

I agree with Chris. Maybe these units could be hardwired if they are designed for above suspended ceilings.

I would just cut a receptacle into the ceiling tile and move on. Some of these TV mounts actually have a KO to mount an old work box in.
