outlet in a vanity drawer

I installed an outlet in a vanity drawer years ago, now I am asked to do it again. Then, I researched and found it met code to install a gfi outlet in the wall, in the back of the cabinet, then plug in an SO cord into it and attach it to an outlet mounted in the drawer back. Is this what you do? (I may have used a gfi protected regular outlet in the wall so I wouldn't need to be concerned about being accessible.) Thank you.

Thanks. I looked at the website. My inspector tells me I can do it if I use a safety plug and use MC cable. What does a safety plug mean? A twist lock type?

Your inspector will accept the misuse of a cord cap?
