Does NEC 110.26 apply to putting electrical outlets in lockers? I have a client that would like a duplex outlet mounted in the top of each locker.
Thanks

110.26 applies to electrical equipment that is likely to require maintenance or inspection while energized. Receptacle outlets are not generally thought of as being included in this category. So my answer is that you do not need to reserve working clearance for a receptacle outlet.

I agree with Charlie. If receptacles are subject to the working space requirements then we could never install them above a countertop or under a sink for a disposal.

It is my opinion that 110.26 applies to all electrical equipment including switches and receptacles and that the section needs to be rewritten to say what the CMP intends it to say.
