I am running circuits in a kitchen and have a long counter with a sink in the middle. There is no wall as it is an open pass through to a living room. Are there any other outlet options other than pop up’s in the counter or sill outlets in the face of the cabinets to cover the NEC for kitchen counters?

I was hoping for a front view of the finished product: opening, trim, etc.

Maybe a finished house nearby with the same opening?

That's better.

A ten-foot+ opening with no lip or rise of any kind?!

Good luck!

Ask the AHJ if they'll accept receptacles facing each other in the opening.

The real fix is to have the architect re-design it with a chance of compliance.

I could try, but the designer is having trusses moved just to place lights where she wants them. Never seen anything like it before. No expense spared on this job.

Explain the electrical rules and ask him where the required receptacles should be placed.

If necessary, give him the inspector's phone number.

If no expense is spared, show them the price of the pop-ups and let them know how many you're going to need. That's a beautiful change order!!! $$$$$$$$$$
