I have emergency generator outside housed in a mini building Not the generator enclosure that has three main breakers. First feeds life and safety, second feeds legally required and third feeds fire pump.
The generator serves as back up to the fire pump.
The problem is those three main breakers are not within sight of building since they are in mini building with door
NEC 2017 Article 700.12(B)(6) says to have disconnect within sight of the building.
However should the third breaker that is feeding fire pump is allowed to have additional disconnect between generator main breaker and fire pump or not?
