It appears to be safe to post this now :)
I have a sight unseen dual fuel oven and I could wait to see the nameplate but I want to price the wire now.

Oven 1) Auxiliary Oven:
a)Bake Element 2600 watts
b)Broiler Element 3000 watts

Oven 2) Upper/Single Oven Settings:
c)Bake Element 1800 watts
d)Broiler Element 2200 watts

I assume I need to figure on both broiling elements being used at the same time for max load. (Dont think bake and broil cant be used at the same time)

3000+2200= 5200/240= 21.6 = #10 with 30 amp breaker correct? Panel is fairly close by. Web specs say 50 amps needed..Thx

Most newer ovens have a pre-heat cycle and the upper and lower elements are on at the same time when pre-heating, (mine does anyway).
I'd say that the 50A is correct.
just my opinion

Duel fuel oven to me means it can run off of propane or natural gas. In which case the electrical requirements would be low.

Might want to check a little further on this.

Or it means it is fancy for chef's and uses both gas and electric fuel sources.

Could be the case. At $2.49 per ft for 6/3 I want to make sure.

Wow iwire I cant even begin to guess what a stove like that costs much less run it. How ppl can cook with 50 amps spinning the meter is beyond me.

In my experience, duAl fuel means electric oven and gas cooktop; duEl fuel, I've never heard of. ;)

Can't say that I have ever seen a dual fuel oven? Either gas or electric. Or are we talking about a complete range as Bob has posted?
I shoulda been more specific. Yes, they're ranges, and Steve is also correct that pre-heat settings run both elements. I couldn't imagine a gas in-wall oven.

The one I had was a Jenn-air range, with an electric oven and gas cooktop, and two of the burners could be easily replaced with a rectangular grill.

WHy not pull a 6-3 anyhow this way when they change to just Electric they are all set... ? Whenever I rough in any gas appliance, I always allow for future change, like a gas dryer on the 2nd floor, your better bet i'm pulling a 10-3 to that location...

Out here in "ego-trip" California we see these all the time. I don't recall ever seeing one that req more than 40amps but we always run 6/3 so we are ready for the next fad that comes along. The labor is the same and the diff in wire cost isn't worth talking about with these 'way to rich' yuppies that always want the latest crap.

Ridiculous.

Randal welcome to the forum.

If you go to 210.19 (3) your query should be answered.

I am not sure I agree with you there.

210.19(A)(3) definitely gives us some minimum requirements but we still need to know the specifics about the range itself.
