Over Head wiring

I have 20, 240v single phase, 250watt fixtures i am mounting to c class telephone poles, I am running the wiring over head it is 1000' long. Does anyone see a problem with running 3 phase and tepping off to the single phase fixture. The reason i want to do this is i believe i can run smaller wire if i phase the loads correctly.

I'm just guessing on this one (again)!! But I think the smallest aerial cable permitted is # 6.:-?

Then it will work but amps go up because you now use 208. Would depend on actual latout. Would figure it both ways and allow for voltage drops

yes if i go with 3phase it would be #2 cu. or 2/0 aluminum
1 phase 2/0 cu or 4/0 aluminum

Now i just have to see what the price savings is on the wire.

225.6 600 volt or less #10 cu for up to 50' and #8cu or #6 al for greater spans with a messenger wire. You were on top of it.

If it's 1 long run stoping every 50 feet or so i would perhaps use 3 phase for the first part of job and finish on single phase. Might be some savings. Maybe use 480/277

yeah i thought about setting a transformer but the cost savings wasnt there
