We have an air compressor with 150HP motor, cooling fans and a control panel. The vendor supplied starter is a Delta Wye which reduces the motor inrush by approx 1/3 amps. The FLA is shown as 222A
All loads are considered continuous. I was thinking the fuse sizing should be based on 1.25% times the FLA. But does the ‘soft start’ starter affect this calculation in any way?

The Fusing most likely is not used for over current protection so could be considerably higher.

You can size the fuse up to 175% of the full load amps of the motor. And you can use the next size up rule if it does not correspond to a standard size.
