Recently inspected a new house that had the following:One double oven rated 8.5kw and a combination gas cooktop/electric oven rated 4.8kw. These appliances where fed on a 50 amp branch circuit. All branch circuit conductors to each appliance are properly sized for 50 amps.
If Note 4 to table 220.19 and 210.19(3)exception 1 are applied to this scenario, does 422.11(e) apply? It would seem that using 220.19 note 4 and 210.19(3)exception 1 would allow the 4.8kw appliance to be protected at 50 amps. Also, would the combination gas cooktop/electric oven be considered a "counter mounted cooking unit"? Thank you for your thoughts.
