have a house doing generator for. salesman sold consolidating two panels inside and one on outside of wall into one (indoor ones are one over other on inside wall). meter and service entrance disco are on a pole 28' from house.
would need to run new 4 wire se cable. one of original is run under deck. I don't like idea of running the new se cable in conduit under a deck that could be torn down later, since now you'd have a line run to have to support and would be run across yard 25' to house and 30' along wall.
thought about going back up pole with cable in conduit, 37' jump across to mast and down into new panel. can I just run a continuous section of 4 wire out weather head, loop through hanger hardware, repeat on mast side and down to new panel? have seen very few set up like this, and all were pretty old.
also, what can I use to clamp the mast to top plate or wall cavity to support weight of mast on top panel box? I think would bow top of panel if not supported well. I have to pull the paneling off wall anyway to get at work so would be accessible at that time, just straight shot up out roof.
thanks.
