Contractor bought # 4 THHN ,for a overhead feeder feeding a subpanel 100 amps over head, can I use THHN, THWN for overhead feeder, and can you give me a idea how to do it with out using quadplex, how would I support wire with out a mesanger wire thanks

I do not believe you can used either one of those exposed conductors. One of many reasons is that they are not sun light resistant.
I would go quadplex or underground.

I don't think you can support it without a guy wire. Also I assume you have the dual rated thhn/thwn. Need to have a W for wet location however I don't believe that wire is sunlight resistant. Use quadraplex- that is what it is made for

Some THHN/THWN is marked sunlight resistant.

I suppose you could support it on insulators.

You don't want too long of a span without using an ACSR conductor or other messenger wire for intermediate support.
