Overhead fire door?

Good Morning,

Pharmacy in a hospital, 2 hour fire rated wall with a very thick bullet proof window with a hole in the center to talk and a slide thru to pass perscriptions thru.

Question...is there any requirement to have a overhead door to automatically come down when the fire detectors in the area happen to go off?

Any info or direction will be very helpful.

Can't quote the chapter/verse, but the VA hospoital I do work at has an overhead fire door we connected to the new fire alarm system.

Any opening in a fire rated partition requires an opening protective. It can be in the form of a fire rated overhead door or by other means.

There may be sprinklers installed to direct a curtain of water at the window in the event of a fire.
