I just went and did this inspection and thought I would share what I encountered. How many violations can you see? It's from one building with a generator to a garage.

Uf is not rated for use as an aerial. The connections are not weatherproof. Is that aa standoff being used to mount the insulator on? It must be the wrong size if they wrapped wire around it. Also, why are there two white wires?

Needs to be marked sunlight resistant also.

Just a little update, the electrician asked if THHN or TW #4 solid copper would work without a messenger. I wonder what planet this guy came from.

Seems a bit harsh.

Inspector requests it be put into compliance. Charges for the re-inspection and moves on.

Installer loses money and learns.

The owner, property and others are protected.

Inspector did his job.

Isn't that the way this is supposed to work or did I miss something.

State of WA has a long list of rules and regulations, WAC and RCW. Somewhere in there it gives the powers that be the ability to lift your license if it is deemed that you should not be doing electrical work.

I'm quite sure every state has wording of the such,,,,,but my point was you cannot do it by that picture, that's for sure. Someone has over inflated your ego
