overhead span between SFD and detached garage

On an overhead span between a single family dwelling and a detached garage, are splice connections allowed at drip loops at both ends as with service entrance conductors or must the conductors be uninterrupted passing through the weatherheads. If exposed splice connections are permitted must the conductors that originate from inside the buildings and emerge through the weatherhead be UV resistant like the span conductors? Thanks for all code article designations.

225.11 Circuit Exits and Entrances.
Where outside branch and feeder circuits leave or enter a building, the requirements of 230.52 and 230.54 shall apply.

230.54 (F) Drip Loops. Drip loops shall be formed on individual conductors. To prevent the entrance of moisture, service-entrance conductors shall be connected to the service-drop conductors either (1) below the level of the service head or (2) below the level of the termination of the service-entrance cable sheath.

300.8 (D) Locations Exposed to Direct Sunlight. Insulated conductors or cables used where exposed to direct rays of the sun shall comply with one of the following:
(1) Cables listed, or listed and marked, as being sunlight resistant
(2) Conductors listed, or listed and marked, as being sunlight resistant
(3) Covered with insulating material, such as tape or sleeving, that is listed, or listed and marked, as being sunlight resistant

I hope this is what you are looking for.

Mike, I appreciate your reply. I had a nagging sense that non-service entrance conductors had different requirements but could only find service entrance specifications.
