I'm trying to find ring lights for a couple of palm trees about 6 ' apart. I have power about 10' away and need to put up (2) ring lights (one on each palm tree). These palm trees measure 40" to 55" diameter depending on where you measure at and about 30' high(this is a total guess). What is the best product and way to do this?? Thanks, JB

what are ring lights?

What I decided to call the light fixture??? I need the kind of lights that mount at about 1/2 way or more up the palm tree and the the fixture goes around the tree (my desription of a ring light)to light up the top of the palm tree. You see them alot at the hotels and around calif.. I've seen them run the power right on the tree up to the fixture in seal tite or nmc?? Looking for the best way...Thanks, JB

Like tree mounted flood lights, or Christmas/tube lights?

thry're like a row of small flood lights spaced around the diameter of the tree and mounted about 2/3 the way up to light up the top of a palm tree...Thanks, JB

You cant attach wire/cable/conduit/fixtures to trees, per NEC. I do not know the article off the top of my head.

Thanks for all the help... I found this on another thread on this sight when I did a thread searh for "tree light"

225.26 prohibits using vegetation as a support for overhead spans.

410.36 allows fixtures and 'associated equipment' to be supported by trees

Danz, Thanks, the tree j-box looks like a good way to do it, I was going to come off a WP j-box with seal tite and run the seal tite up to the fixture.. Thanks, JB

Sounds pretty custom to me.... Might be your option too. Have a metal fab shop make some rings with mounts for lights.

Then device a winch and pully system to lift and power them like high mast lights....
