Re: PANEL CLEARANCE

Panel needs 30" of width and 36" of depth in front of it.

Re: PANEL CLEARANCE

George it is simple 30 ins. wide from either side and 36 in deep, nothing can encroach this area :D

Re: PANEL CLEARANCE

The electrical panel is required to be:
Accessible, Readily (Readily Accessible). Capable of being reached quickly for operation, renewal, or inspections without requiring those to whom ready access is requisite to climb over or remove obstacles or to resort to portable ladders, and so forth.

Re: PANEL CLEARANCE

(E) none of the above.

I cannot think of any reason one would be required to work on a panelboard while energized therefore working space is not applicable. ;)

Re: PANEL CLEARANCE

Bryan, I'm surprised at you. That's very close to humor. :D

Although I know you're serious.

I can think of several reasons to access a live panelboard and it also being safe. It is a dead front if it's not open.

But I see you're point too. And it is kind of funny actually. :D

Edit: And you have a new signature.

I can think of one just off the top of mt head
incoming poco power is fluctuating,at meter is fine next place to go is panel, how do you test from meter to panel without testing it open.30 x 36 maintains that clearance
