The 2011 NEC (and 2013 CA code), which are what I work with, say this about clearance
Width of Working Space. The width of the working
space in front of the electrical equipment shall be the
width of the equipment or 762 mm (30 in.), whichever is
greater. In all cases, the work space shall permit at least a
90 degree opening of equipment doors or hinged panels.
If I'm replacing an outdoor service panel (single family residence) that is in a corner, i.e. plenty of depth and plenty of height but only space to one side, will the inspector violate me? The panel will be an inch or two from the wall on the right side, with no issues opening the panel to access it.
Thanks for your time.
