I am in process of upgrading an old home fuse panel in an laundry room to a circuit breaker panel. A washing machine was located in front of the fuse panel along with wall mounted water feeds. The electrician indicated that this is unacceptable and the washing machine location must be changed. I have removed the water feeds and stubbed off the lines for the upcoming inspection. By reading these various posts, it looks to me that nothing can be in front of the panel for 30" side to side to allow access for future electrical work. Can someone confirm this? I am quite short of room and would like to place the wash machine back in this location with lower mounted water feeds or possibly place the clothes dryer there. In the past, I have seen panels located in laundry closets directly above laundry appliances. Thanks in advance for the help.
