First I would like to say hello to everone and for all of the support given. I am a new member however I have used the site coutless times in the past. THANK YOU ALL!!!My question is... A homeowner contacted a electrical company to upgade there service, a permit was pulled and work was complerted and even inspected. The work passed but for whatever reason (unknown to the homeowner) the company returned and told the homeowner a mistake happened and they needed to fix said problem with the panel with no reinspection. I was asked to do other work several months later and found numerous fixable issues but found the cover oversized for the in-wall panel box. The homeowner is upset paying for a new panel and recieving this type of work ... is there a code issue Im not aware of that could force a proper panel install or is the home owner forced to start over? Thanks again.

Welcome to the forum.:)

Could you expand on what the problem with the panel is?

You said the panel cover was "oversized" for the box inside, what do you mean by "Oversized"?

Chris

Could they have used one of the C-H retro fit kits? You keep the old can, they size the buss and cover by the old mfg. number and size of can.

it doent look like the panel box was touched at all, however the cover is way to big a good 6" longer than the box Im thinking this would be a UL problem but not sure.....

What are you saying? The contractor just replaced the cover and charged for an upgrade? What? Please give a more clear, concise description of the problem.
