Panel in bathroom

Service disconnecting means shall not be installed in bathroom. Can a sub-panel be installed in a bathroom, residential or commercial.

Nothing I am aware of would prohibit installing a panelboard in the bathroom, but the section David referred you to would prevent you from installing any overcurrent devices in it.

Important to note that Davids reference would not apply to a Commercial bathroom....and it also does not apply to supplementary OCPD in any bathroom.

The rule for service disconnection means is 230.70(A)(2) and it does not give relief for either.....so it applies to all bathrooms when dealing with service disconnection means.

But if you wish to install a empty panelboard in a bathroom (in general)....it's permitted...lol
