So boss sent me over to a small cabin that the home inspector said the neutral need to be on one side and the grounds on the other.

It’s a SD QO panel that is bonded, told boss to just tell the realtor it’s fine what does it matter if the neutral are on one side and the grounds on the other on a neutral bar that’s connected and bonded.

The thing the HI did not catch is the fact it’s a 100amp service with a 200amp panel.

And are you surprised? HI giving bad info, what's new. If that was all that neutral and ground sharing buses, not a problem, more often I've seen double taps on neutral, a non starter. You're correct, the 200A breaker protecting 100A conductor should have been caught.

I am not surprised at all. Do not think very highly of HI anyway. But they do have to justify how much they charge, so they make stuff up to “fix” so they can tell the homeowner I found stuff wrong
