No, however we are starting to provide it where easily done.

No, That would be impractical. Lets hope in fifteen years Home Inspectors don't start suggesting AFCI protection when the residence changes hands.

Unless there is renovation going on inside where the walls are opened up. Or where extending a circuit more than 6' in a required AFCI protected area.

Not unless the "branch circuit' is being extended or modified in some way itself.....and if so defer to the Exception if applicable under 210.12(B)
