Hello I am new to the forum and just recently became a contractor. I am bidding on installing a new service to an existing barn with animal confinement. My question is this: in order to put the panelboard inside the barn it would have to be installed in a separate room such as a storage closet away from animals correct? The reason I ask is the owner got a price from another contractor and he was planning on installing a indoor panel inside the barn but not in a separate room. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Per 547.5 (C) 3 I am under the understanding that I cannot use a indoor panel

Glad that you are reading the article and not just wanting the answer given to you.

Dennis gave you the article. There are many considerations in that article.

Now to you first question: Remember this if it is a fancy barn.

(2) Bathrooms. Service disconnecting means shall not be
installed in bathrooms.

PS Welcome.
