because of arc fault req. on all electrical circuits in residential bdrms Are panels now prohibited in all residential bdrms ???

Why or Whynot???

210.12B requires all 15 and 20 amps outlets to be protected. See def of outlet.

If the branch circuit is in a bedroom, it is not required to be protected with an AFCI device unless it feeds an outlet in the bedroom. In Indiana, that has been changed to read receptacle outlets. :D

The simple answer is that a panel does not meet the definition of "outlet" since a panel does not "take current to supply utilization equipment".
