Can I feed the primary side of a step up transformer (208V to 480/277V) with parallel conductors from parallel circuit breakers?
It's a 112.5 kVA transformer. Primary CB is 400A, however distribution panel feeding transformer can only accommodate 225A branch circuit breakers. Can I use 2 200A, 3P CBs to feed the transformer if my parallel conductors are sized to handle the full 400A (500 MCM)? Will 500 MCM fit on a 200A CB? Is there a way to interlock the 2 breakers to use smaller conductors (3/0)? The distance from panel to transformer is less than 10 feet, so conductor cost is not much of a concern. Any info or other solutions would be appreciated. Thanks.
