Parallel service conductors

Is there somewhere in the code where it specifically says you can double the ampacity of a parallel conductor, I am aware of all the adjustment factors and I know its allowable. I cant find where it states that you are allowed.

There is not, and I have always found that to be amusing. 303.B(1) says we are allowed to parallel conductors, but nothing tells us what benefit we can gain by doing so.

There is no place in Code that will tell you that.

Technically you do not double the ampacity of the parallel conductor... you may double the conductors which both combined have double the ampacity, but each member conductor still has the same ampacity as if not paralleled.
