Parallel?

I'm installing a 500 amp. service. It feeds 9 meters from a main disconnect. It will have 2 masts running parallel.
Is it allowed to run 2 parallel grounding electrode conductors, (to the water main)?

Re: Parallel?

310.4 discusses ungrounded and grounded conductors in parrallel, 250.122 discusses equipment grounding conductors in parrallel, but I see nothing that permits a grounding electrode conductor be installed in parrallel.

No you can not run parallel GECs, there is no need to with a maximum size of 3/0

For your service I imagine a set of parallel 250s which will put your ground at 1/0.

You might be able to use parallel 4/0s for this depending on the calculated load and applying 240.4(B)
