If four parallel circuits are needed can you run them in two conuits. Meaning that there is two of each phase in each conduit. I know about the ABC rule that is why I am asking about this installation. The customer is having problems with the wire and conduit over heating.

you would need to take into account the derating for more than 3 current carrying conductors in the conduit, but other wise no problem.

Just to be sure, you have Aph, Bph, and neutral in one pipe and the same in

the other pipe?
 
If you do upsize your phase conductors due to detrating you will also need to be sure and proportionality upsize your equipment grounding conductor too.
 
Look at 310.4, in the paragraph that follow sub-article (5). It tells you that each conduit must have the same number of conductors. So I agree with the others who have said that what you are describing is allowed.
