I'm trying to figure out which LED retrofit to use on these fixtures?
I don't know the wattage or dimension of housing (i.e.- what physical size of lamp should I order)?

About all I know is they're an e39 base and the poles are 25feet high.

I have to rent equipment to service these fixtures (convert to LED) and I don't want to get up there and find out my lamp(s) are too large (physically) for the housing!

Can anyone give me advice on the wattage (equivalent) and physical size of bulb to shoot for?

Thanks

I would ask if the customer has any spare bulbs on hand. Otherwise, you might have to get up there and open one.

There are screw-in LEDs that are multi-voltage. Just disconnect the wiring from the ballast / capacitor / ignitor etc and run the power directly to the socket. Screw in the LED lamp and you're done.

Another place to check is where the timer is, if there is one. Sometimes, smart electricians will write the lamp type on the panel or timer cover.

Yeah, I already asked the owner about spare lamps. He doesn’t have any. He normally pays a larger outfit that has a bucket truck to come service them.
I had thought about turning the circuit on and doing an amp reading to calculate wattage but several of the lamps are either out or are cycling.
Maybe I’ll go to one of the hand holes in a post that is working and try that for one fixture...

I want to bypass ballast and use a retrofit led lamp.
probably what I’ll end up doing is getting a couple of different types of lamps and see which fits best.
It’s only 6 fixtures.
I’m just not sure what lumens rating I should pick up.

You can't replace HPS with LED lumen-for-lumen or watt-for-watt. A sick-orange 2100k 400 HPS may put out 50,000 lumens, but a 125-watt 20,000-lumen 4000k LED will blast the lot with light.

He could certainly ask them, and just say to order some if he doesn't want to tell them why he's asking.
