We are currently working on the lighting of parking lots. Some of the light posts have an incorporated GFCI. Is it correct to connect the GFCI's ground to the post's ground? The post's ground is connected to a ground bar. My other question is as follows:
The surge protector has a connection that is showed in the manual that comes with the surge protector. I would like to know if it is the same to connect it to in the opposite way as shown in the manual. A person working on the project who has a high position said that you could connect it in reverse.
Thank you.

Where is the ground bar? There must be an EGC run with the circuit conductors for both the lights and the GFCI. If you want to connect the EGC to the pole that would be correct.

this would be the first I have heard of a directional surge protector. Does it actually have labels indicating direction? They are ususally a gas discharge tube and varistor across the two inputs.

Of course, Monster has made a fortune selling directional wire
