not quite, lucky to find it actually, considering the rest of the parking lot is asphalt, this is what happens when another trade fixes a problem.

Being UF cable, must be a CVS store, they have the worst parking lot power design of any store I have ever worked on. It must be in the specs to bury a j-box somewhere near every pole! Doesn't matter if it's a new or old store, there will be only one pipe stubbed out of every pole.:rant:

Actually, by the look at the scene of the crime, A new underground propane tank was installed, im guessing the contractor fixed it himself, at least I like to think another electrician didnt do this...

For awhile actually, then it rained for what seemed forever, thats when it finally failed.

Lol, im guessing thats in fact what happened.

With copper conductors it can be years before it fails sometimes, with aluminum it can be just days if it is not a sealed connection.

I'm a bit surprised the breaker tripped. The splices must have been right next to each other.

It rained, and rained, rained here, i would say the splices were just how they look in the photo.
