To patient bed’s I have always provided 8 duplex, normal branch receptacles for general care with 4 of them on normal and 4 of them on critical. Or more often split between two critical branches. I have been asked by a client if I could provide a single critical branch and use for the quad at one bed and for the quad at an adjacent bed. However ill advised that might be, would that be a code violation either by 517, or 99 or the FGI guidelines. How about if you tried to do two beds in different rooms?

It is a code violation otomh. At least one circuit needs to be dedicated to the bed.

Also: I highly advice on having two critical branches (2 ATS per bed location) instead of one normal one critical but that is me talking beyond code minimum.
