Good Afternoon
I have a project that is oshpod 3 and classified as patient care. I am confused on 517.13 Exception 2. It references fixtures above 7 1/2 feet need to be grounded per wiring method A. Does that mean I have to run HCF cable from light to light in the ceiling or can I run regular MC?
 
You can not run "regular MC". The exception in 517 refers you back to 517.13(A) which requires the metal raceway system qualify as an equipment ground.
You are not required to have the additional insulated grounding conductor from 517.13(B).

You may use HCF or any other raceway that qualifies under 250.118.
