When you have a pendant like this hung from drop ceiling what is that' Aircraft cable" attached to above the ceiling? I know there maybe a 4" box but maybe not for that cable because the "whip/tail" could go mto a box a feew feet away. Thanks.

It goes into the structural ceiling. Or into an approved item attached to the structural ceiling.

The feed end goes into a round/octagon box. The other cables can just terminate to a stud. Is there black iron? If so the studs can hang off of that or strut laying on top of the iron.

Installed these before, and the one hanging actually follows up to a wiring box ( a 4x4 or 4" round) the other hanging cable goes up to a preferred 2x4 ceiling structure but was also provided with a winged drywall anchor.
