Pendant receptalces

Where in the code does it says a duplex receptacles on a 4x4 box at the end of a flexible cord, must be attached to something if it's hanging from the ceiling that is being use to power any equipment that might be placed the middle of a floor area?

314.23(H)(1) doesn't exactly say it but it does say if the box is supported by the cord it will have a threaded hub which a 4"sq box does not have. If the 4"sq box is fastened to a structure you would be good to go.

OSHA also has some rules cover it.
