I need some ideas on low voltage lighting for an arbour/pergola. It has 8 inch wide main support beams with more decorative (non-support) 8 inch beams coming off the main supports. on top of that "grid" it has 2x12 cedar "joist". I am thinking of using Sea Gull lighting's mini low voltage cans in the non-supporting beams, but at a loss on the other area's. The owners do not want to see the lights much at all yet want maximum light when needed. there will be two sets of lights one for low light and then an additional set for general lighting/ high lighting. I'm trying to talk them into putting light kits on the proposed fans, but they might not go for it. I think running the wire on top of the 2x12's and drilling down to each light that will be in those 2x12's gives the most invisibility. As far as what lights to use I'm wanting to see what all is out there and what some of you guys have had good luck with.
