I have a question about the installed recessed into a deck so the rim is less than 28 inches above the perimeter. 690.42 requires all hot tubs to follow parts I and II of 680. Part II of 680, the section containing perimeter surface bonding requirements is for permanently installed pools. By definition a permanently installed pool must have a depth greater than 42 inches. Is perimeter surface bonding of self-contained hot tub recessed into a deck so the rim is less than 28 inches above the perimeter required if the hot tubs depth is less than 42inches? :?

If the rim of the tub is less than 28 inches above ALL perimeter surfaces, equipotential bonding of perimeter surfaces is required regardless of water depth.

You need to read 680.42(B) to see what is required. In your situation, you will need to do equipotential bonding following the directions in 680.26(B)(2)

680.42 basically states if you have less 28" then the bonding is required
