Phase conversion and voltage boost

I have a customer who has 120/240 single phase power at his shop. He bought a band saw that requires 460 V, 3 phase, 2.8 power. Can this be done with a boost transformer and then a power converter off of the transformer?

Most likely you can change the equipment voltage to 240. If so, I would look at a VFD. In many cases you can use an oversized VFD with a single phase input to get a 3 phase output. This would have an added advantage of providing speed control for the cutting blade.
