Looking over the pop up receptacles designed for use in countertops. Some of them have built in phone charging on the top. What are the requirements for heat resistance? Will this be a hazard if someone places a hot pan on the charger? Also if the receptacle must be off in the down position is it permissible for the circuit to power the charger?

I imagine that the top of the receptacle is not rated to protect the device from that kind of heat. But I haven't read any specs on them either.
Hopefully people aren't placing fresh hot pans on their counter tops.
But to each their own.

There is no requirement that the receptacle be off when in the down position.
