I am bidding a project for the city (sort of design build) and there will be approximately 5 circuits that need to be controlled by photo cell. Do they make a photo cell that can control multiple circuits? 2nd question is the feed will be a meter pedestal mounted near the side walk. The loads are some fancy looking period street lights and some tree receptacles for Christmas lights. Do you think it is acceptable to mount this photo cell at street level on the meter pedestal? Its a small safe town but still worried about punks breaking the photo cell or messing with it.

You can buy meter peds with built in photo cells and possibly contactors to. I believe the ones our city uses, the photo cell is between the line and the load of the panel.

In lieu of the other suggestions and going cheap, cheap in comparison, you can also let the photocell control a mutipole relay which in turn would control your lights.

i would not worry about a street level photo cell mount...even if a 12 yr old can figure out how it works, what is the worst problem?...one kid will have his video camera ready, the other kids will have flashlights in hand, and all at the same time they will shine it on the the various photo cells...the town will go dark, riots break out, looting etc...it will be a youtube sensation...

No doubt street level mounting of the PC is just a license for vandalism of same. What ever you mount it on have it north seeking.(looking north)
