Photovoltaic Systems as LRSS

I'm trying to come up with a backup power system for a smoke exhaust fan at the top of an atrium.

The IBC requires this fan to be supplied from 2 power sources. It references the ICCEC, but I don't have a copy of that.

Is a photovoltaic system acceptable as a LRSS?

Re: Photovoltaic Systems as LRSS

There is such a thing as a solar powered attic fan that I have seen in Solar Today magazine. This is meant for supplemental cooling of an attic, not for smoke removal. It runs when the sun shines but has no energy storage, Since attic fans need to run past sunset you would still need a 120 volt fan - the solar fan is meant to provide extra ventilation summer and winter.
