This would have to be taken on a situation by situation basis.
If you has CT in say a manufacturing area where fork lifts were running around, having it be 10' off the floor is likely exposing it to physical damage as there's a reasonable expectation some fork lift operator might forget to lower the lift, or a load might be more than 10' high at some point.
Yet some CT in a attic 8" above the attic floor out near the eaves might be perfectly fine.
Other factors can cause damage besides impacts too like environmental things - might it be passing through an area where corrosive vapors could exist? (ex. above a plating tank in an electroplating shop)
